ENERGY STAR Challenge for Industry Energy Performance Indicator Benchmarking Tool

July 20, 2010 Connecticut

This seminar is specifically developed for the Connecticut Energy Efficiency Fund’s Business Sustainability Challenge participants. The seminar will provide an overview of “why” benchmarking is critical to success in manufacturing. After a brief overview of the “why”, a detailed step-by-step roadmap on the “how” to utilize this important tool will be provided. Attendees will learn the key information required to utilize the tool and how to establish a common metric to allow for comparison of each facility in their portfolio.

Even if you have created your own benchmarking tool, this seminar will provide invaluable insight into the “why” and “how” of benchmarking, including:

  • The primary purpose for benchmarking
  • Utilizing benchmarking to position projects
  • Detailed road map for utilizing the EPA Energy Performance Indicator Benchmarking Tool and how your own tool applies
  • The benchmarking process including gathering the key data for entry
  • Determining the common metric across all facilities in your portfolio
  • How to create graphs and reports for internal meetings
  • Benchmarking and capital funding

Approximately twenty-four attendees from twelve businesses participated. Twenty attendees from ten companies were able to identify the key metrics that best suited their businesses and succeeded in benchmarking their industrial facilities during the seminar.

October 28, 2010 Following Mr. Montes's guest speaking engagement at San Diego Gas & Electric ENERGY STAR Best Pracitces seminar, he wrote: Lee,THANK YOU for your kind words. It was my pleasure and let me know if I could be of further support in the future. You and Emerging Technologies Associates have done an outstanding job in supporting Sharp Metropolitan campus in improving our Energy Star rating and could not have done it without your support.  RegardsArmando MontesOperations...
