SCE Water Conference September 27, 2010
ETA participated in the Southern California Edison (SCE) Annual Water Conference on September 27, 2010 where leading speakers from the Climate Registry, the Water Districts, LA Metropolitan Water District, UC Santa Barbara Bren School, the California Public Utility Commission and other regulators updated the audience of 200 plus attendees on the state of the water energy equation.
Policies statewide are advancing in this direction and many of the stakeholders demonstrated the need for reducing water pumping related energy consumption. Moving water to accomodate our exploding population is one of the highest users of electric power in California.
Water conservation measures across all sectors will not only conserve our scarce resource, water, but also reduce our peak load and shortage of electric power statewide. ETA has incorporated many of the tips from the Conference into its course material for its seminars nationwide on Sustainability.
Several of ETA's projects are aimed at water efficiency specially in healthcare spaces. The need to reuse, reduce waste, recycle will be needed more and more in every building nationwide in order to preserve our energy and water resources. ENERGY STAR has the answer ! Tune in for water -conservation tips from ETA in January in San Diego.
